چکیده
This study’s Part I proved that ground-motion duration could play an important role when assessing the nonlinear structural performance of case-study inelastic single degree-of-freedom systems. However, quantifying effects in many practical/more realistic engineering applications is not trivial, given difficulties decoupling from other characteristics. II, introduced this article, explores impact on by numerically simulating response reinforced concrete bare and infilled building frames. Advanced computational models incorporating components’ cyclic in-cycle strength stiffness deterioration, destabilizing [Formula: see text] are used. The proposed methodology relies generalized conditional intensity measure approach to select ground motions. allows selecting records consistent with seismic hazard at a target site, both terms spectral shape duration. Those employed as input cloud-based analyses. Variance analysis used quantify response. Furthermore, vector-valued fragility vulnerability alternatively using peak- cumulative-based demand parameters derived. Results show higher damage/loss estimates can be attained increases. Relative differences up 44% found median values for pre-code frame comparing scalar conditioned average pseudo-spectral acceleration significant durations 35 s.

Influence of Ground Motion Duration on the Structural Response at Multiple Seismic Intensity Levels
This paper aims to investigate the effects of motion duration on the structural seismic demands, seeking potential correlations between motion durations and structural responses at several seismic intensity levels. Three seismic intensity levels with 100years, 475years, and 2475years earthquake return periods (RPs) are first considered for correlation computations. Spectrally matched ground mot...

The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...

In this paper, pile behavior embedded in layered soil deposits subjected to seismic loadings is analyzed using a nonlinear fiber element for simulation of soil – pile interactions. In the created model, both pile and surrounding soil are modeled using fiber elements in a practical Beam on Nonlinear Winkler Foundation (BNWF) concept. Herein, the features of DRAIN–3DX finite element software are ...
